When you lead the church in prayer, you are teaching people how to pray. So while it may seem simple to just go up to the microphone and read a prayer you've written, that prayer needs to have been bathed in prayer.

Preparation before Sunday

In advance, you will need to prepare a written prayer. You don't have to pray it verbatim, but we'll need a written version so our translator can have a script as they lead the francophones through the same prayer.

The topic of your prayer will be assigned to you, and you may also be given a rough outline to guide you.

Submit your written prayer to the pastor the Wednesday before worship, so he has time to place it into the liturgy script.
